Brewing New England

Got Beer?

While the world is dominated by huge multinational corporations who rely on expensive advertising and marketing tricks to appear to be just regular folks, New England is still home to scores of truly local and independent businesses who brew beers, ails, ciders and other time honored spirits.

Just added

Cape Ann Brewing Co. Gloucester, Massachusetts.  A new to the New England brewing, the company has a simple site but a fine address and some grand baseball connections.

Making beer and ails requires a unique blend of natural ingredients, (including good, clear, clean water) considerable knowledge of chemistry, sophisticated if relatively simple equipment and time.  Brewers must also know how to pour a keg (and later tap it properly), have expertise on  bottling, transportation, marketing, retailing, community and public relations and know on a variety of issues when "enough is enough".

There are site reviews to some of these listings to which readers or brewers are welcome to make additional comments by emailing the Editor above.

When know, we'll also be noting brewery tours.  We've found from past experience that brewers, like artists and other creative types, are grand people who enjoy showing other the mysteries of what it is they do.     A brewery tour is fun, fastenating to watch and can often result in free samples.

Breweries are listed in state order and limited, to the best of our knowledge, to businesses that are truly independent, New England based concerns.

Enjoy and bottoms up.
