New England's Book
people Bookstores,
publishers, printers and people who work with books
Our region is home to some of the world's
leading publishers as well as many small presses serving specialized needs.
We can also boast a goodly number of independent bookstores, still surviving
despite the inroads of huge chains and online book buying, by providing unique
and knowledgeable services to customers.
We provide this directory with the unabashed
purpose of promoting New England's book people and hope it will inspire others
to help keep our region's book business strong, vital and diverse.

Chip Fleischer, the publisher of Steerforth
Press, recently did an Op-ed page piece for the New York Times on
the books written by presidential candidates and relating their book sales
to success at winning a party's nomination.
Steerforth Press is in South
Royalton, Vermont
and among their books is the one pictured here, of a former Vermont Governor
who just might be on his way to pulling a Clinton.
As least his book
is selling well.
