Albertus Magnus College in New Haven is a private school in the Liberal Arts tradition. Among their academic offerings is a program called New Dimensions, specifically targeted for business education, that enables students to earn undergraduate degrees as well as a Master of Science or Management in an accelerated format. They also have a Division of Continuing Education that offers business degrees as well as 12 other fields of study, with evening, Saturday and online classes available to accommodate working adults' busy schedules. Connecticut College is a key institution in the revitalization of New London and been consistently ranked as one of the best liberal arts colleges in the nation. On a beautiful campus overlooking the Connecticut River the college is closely associated with the Lyman Allyn Art Museum. Founded in 1942 by the Society of Jesus (Jesuits), Fairfield University currently has 3,100 undergraduates and over 1,000 graduate students. The university also a substantial offering for continuing education studies in a wide range of disciplines. Middlesex Community College with campuses in Middletown and Meriden, the school offers a limited but growing list of online courses and two or four year degree programs. Mitchell College offers associate and bachelor degree programs in the liberal arts and in professional studies. A residential, coeducational school on the shore of the Thames River in New London, Connecticut, (with a grand view and sandy beach) the college makes a special effort to unlock a student's true potential and serve those with learning disabilities. Rensselaer at Hartford offers two campus centers in Connecticut, in downtown Hartford and in Groton. The school is an extension of the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York Tunxis Community College in Farmington offers Associate degrees in Arts and Science. They offer online courses for credit and non credit. University of Connecticut The State's premiere public institution for higher learning in Storrs, the university is undergoing a billion dollar facelift. The United States Coast Guard Academy in New London commissions about 175 new ensigns for service on the nation's waterways every year. The Academy truly welcomes visitors and it's museum is well worth a visit. The site offers history of the school, the service and admission information. Southern Connecticut State University in the Westville section of New Haven, Connecticut, near historic West Rock Park. The 168 acre campus is home to over twelve thousand undergraduate and graduate students and a faculty of over 700. Offering a wide selection of degree programs, the university's School of Graduate Studies offers 35 master's degree programs, 9 Sixth Year Professional Diploma programs and a doctoral program Wesleyan University, plays an important part in the vitality of Middletown with approximately 2,700 undergraduates and 150 full-time graduate students in the sciences, mathematics and ethnomusicology. They have an exceptional continuing education program and fine arts departments and their crew teams, using the nearby Connecticut River, are always highly competitive. Andover College in Portland has an open admissions policy for all students. The school offers a range of technical and business related courses, with a decided "hands-on" approach to education. Bates College was founded in Lewiston in 1855 and is considered one of the nation's leading liberal arts institutions. With a student-faculty ration of 10 to 1 the school also features a 4-4-1 terms, for intensive study in a selected field during May. Colby College in Waterville, has a wide selection of courses and majors in the liberal arts, with a diversified student body. The University of Maine at Augusta, offers has three Colleges; Arts and Humanities, Mathematic and Professional Studies and Natural and Social Sciences. The University of Maine in Farmington has been highly rated by U.S. News & World Report and one of only a few public colleges in New England to make Kiplinger's Top 100 list. The Boston Conservatory offers undergraduate programs in music performance, education and composition, dance and musical theater. They have graduate program and their performances and showcases of student's work is a prominent part of Boston's cultural life. The
Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences
offers
schools in Arts and Science, Health Science, Pharmacy and Division of
Graduate Studies. They have centers in Boston and Worcester Brandeis
University, Waltham is the only nonsectarian Bentley College in Waltham combines the atmosphere of a small campus setting with an emphasis on achievement in the business, management, technology and communication. The Boston Architectural Center has an open admissions policy for students with an interest in architecture and interior design. Offering undergraduate and Masters degrees, they have an extensive online course selection. Cape Cod Community College in Barnstable offers a curriculum that is designed to prepare student for more advanced study. They also broadcast classes, 24 hours a day, on cable TV for distance learning. Student can attain Associate degrees and professional certificates in a variety of fields. Emerson College
was founded in Boston in 1800 and today it is the nation's only four-year college devoted
exclusively to the study of communication and performing arts.
An independent, co-educational college they offer fourteen graduate programs
that include communication and advertising, communication disorders, communication and public relations, creative
writing, management, and marketing. Fisher
College, in Boston's Back Bay, offers Baccalaureate Greenfield Community College Located in the Pioneer Valley of western Massachusetts, the college was established in 1962. Current enrollment is over 3,000 with a large variety of degree programs offered. Smith College in Northampton is consistently ranked among the nation’s foremost liberal arts colleges currently with an enrollment 2,800 students. The school is country's largest undergraduate women’s college with an academic emphasis on liberal and arts studies. The school recently completed a major funding campaign, for physical and program enhancements. Colby-Sawyer College in New London, founded in 1837, offers baccalaureate and associate degree in liberal arts and professional studies. College for Lifelong Learning was stated in 1972 by the University System of New Hampshire as college for adults. The College offers classes at over 40 communities in the state with that attracts over 4,000 students yearly. Students can attain a certificate or an associate or bachelor's degree with classes available at convenient hours, days (weekends) and online. The College has educational partnerships with many businesses and other organizations and designed the learning process to accommodate the lifestyles of adults. There is even a Self Design degree program that students can use to answer a specific educational needs. Daniel Webster College in Nashua offers bachelor and associate degrees in Aviation, Business & Management, Computer Sciences, Social Sciences/Humanities, Engineering, Math and Science. The school plays a prominent and important role in the cultural life of Great Nashua. New Hampshire Community Technical College in Berlin offers associate degrees, one year diplomas and professional certification in a variety of technical fields. They are the most northern college in the state's community college system. Plymouth State College, founded in 1871 in Plymouth, the heart of the White Mountains, the offer undergraduate and advanced degrees (MBA and MED) and a range of continuing education programs and opportunities. The college play and important role in the cultural life of Plymouth and surrounding communities. Rivier College in Nashua offers a Catholic liberal education with a commitment to social justice. The school's 2,200 students can pursue an associate's, bachelor's and master's degrees in a range of liberal arts for professional studies. The University of New Hampshire in Durham, founded in 1866, serves an undergraduate student body population of 10,500. Comprised of seven schools, the University offers 2,000 courses in over 100 majors. They completed a $19 million renovation in 1998. The enrollment at Chester College of New England (formerly White Pines College) is very small, by design. The student/teacher ratio is ten to one and as they say, the educational environment means it is impossible to be invisible. Everyone is important. The college offers majors in the visual or language arts as well as general degree programs.
Bryant College in Smithfield has 2,600 full-time undergraduates. They offer a core of study, including advanced degrees, in business, administration, technology and communication as well as the liberal arts. Johnson & Wales University in Providence offers colleges of business, hospitality, culinary arts, and a school of technology. They offer many majors and degree programs at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral level. This campus is one of four others throughout the country. New England Institute of Technology in Warwick was founded in 1940 and has 2,200 students in 20 associate and 6 bachelor degree programs. Majors include automotive technology, business management, computer information systems, electronics engineering technology, mechanical design, surgical technology and video and radio production. Rhode Island College, in the Mount Pleasant section of Providence was founded in 1854 and is the oldest school operated by the state's Board of Governors for Higher Education. Offering undergraduate and graduate degrees, they also place an emphasis on bilingual-bicultural education. Salve Regina University
in Newport offers Associate, Baccalaureate, and Master's degrees, Certificate of Advanced Graduate
Study and a the Ph.D. in Humanities. The school has an aggressive
preservation program that has saved many historic buildings and for
which it has been repeatedly honored. The Vermont Student Assistance Corp is a public nonprofit agency to help Vermonters who want to go to college or other training after high school. They provide grants, loans, scholarships, career and education planning, and general information about affording continuing education. Castleton State College of Castleton, founded in 1787 offers graduate and graduate degrees including a Masters in Forensic Psychology. Champlain College, in Burlington is a four year co-educational college. Offering two and four year degree programs, the school was founded in 1878. Landmark
College in Putney is one of the nation's leading
institutions for provides students with learning disabilities or ADHD.
Landmark's programs are designed exclusively to meet the needs of
these students and are tailored to meet the specific needs and goals
of each individual student. With a student-faculty ratio of 3 to 1,
students receive intense one-on-one tutorials, helping
each to master their individual learning styles. Ninety percent of
graduates continue their studies at four-year colleges and graduate
programs. Lyndon State College in Lyndonville offers bachelor's degree programs, a master of education (four concentrations) and a master of science for teachers. Students can earn an associate's degree in business, communication, sciences, computing, general studies, small business management and entrepreneurship. The say they are "New England's Unique State College" with an emphasis on developing personal resources. Norwich University offers both military education and traditional liberal arts education in a less structured, civilian setting. With campuses in Montpelier and Brattleboro campuses, as well as Norwich, they offer undergraduate and graduate degrees and continuing adult education. The Persons School of Marlboro College in downtown Brattleboro, Vermont is a relatively new institution as they are counted in New England (1946) but they have established a remarkable recording in developing leaders, and those who follow well too, in fields related to information technology. Offering graduate and undergraduate degrees and an extensive international study program the school also places a significant emphasis on continuing education for educators and professionals in the related fields of communication technology. The
brief history of the school's namesake, Henry "Zee" Persons, is a
noteworthy inclusion and one well worth reading. Persons was what we might
call a "good banker" who seemed to have the people of his Vermont
community uppermost in his thoughts and the way he did business. Saint Michael’s College is a residential liberal arts and sciences institution, two miles from Burlington, overlooking the Green Mountains. A Roman Catholic college, they offer advanced degrees in many fields and are home to the Saint Michael's School of International Studies. Woodbury College in Montpelier, VT is a small college, enrollment of 150, that is designed for adults. The average student age is 35. The school seeks to combine theory and practice in a supportive educational environment. Fully 60% of students are parents, half with some college and 25% came to Woodbury with a bachelor's or master's degree. The School for International Training is located in Brattleboro, Vermont but offers classes at a wide selection of national and world-wide locations. Founded in 1964, the school's mission and emphasis is to prepare students to be more effective organizational leaders and responsible global citizens. They offer undergraduate study, more intense professional certificate programs and graduate degrees. |
