We don't know a lot about Rich Schroder save for the fact that he was born in our home town, New York City, and that he has been able to make a living as a singer songwriter living in Brookline, Massachusetts.  We also learn from his web site that he has lived in Lebanon, Tehran and Cameron; providing him with a certain viewpoint that all too many Americans lack.   His site is a logical expression of his past, as we suspect, is his music.

New Hampshire

Just four days after September 11, The East Side Poets performed for at Nashua's 7th Annual Street Beat Festival, without the benefit of a stage, lighting or a sound system worthy of the name.   According to reports, these shortcomings did nothing to diminish the enthusiasm of the crowd who were WOWed by their "street-smart" rapping, augmented by an expected but interesting measure of theatrics.   Their repertoire is matched and refined to the dictates of their audiences, ranging from younger students, teenagers, college gatherings and night club performances. They write their own music and produce their own recordings.  Someday, we suspect, we all may hear a lot more from them.
