Ye Olde Tavern 5183 Main Street, Route 7a in Manchester Center, Vermont (802-362-0611) is open nightly but reservations are suggested.  We've been there and it's a fun place with hearty food and a congenial, New England atmosphere.

Even a Moose needs to relax and put his hoofs up.

The Davis Family, Ron, Heather & Trevor, are the hosts at The Cozy Moose-a four season. oasis in beautiful Greenville Maine.  The family's vacation cabins, on the shore of  picturesque Moosehead Lake, are fully equipped with all the creature comforts quests might need to relax, rejuvenate or if so inclined, recreate. The Executive Board of the Ski-Bees Ski Club in North Conway, New Hampshire looks like a nice, fun loving people who enjoy the simple pleasures of skiing among friends.  No fly by night outfit, the group can trace its history back to the 1930s and today its members come from all over New England to enjoy the club's centrally located lodge, replete with roaring fireplace and cozy, if slightly Spartan  accommodations.   The rates are exceedingly modest but guests, who must be sponsored by a club member, are asked to bring their own linen.  The club offers "affordable" skiing in the Mt. Washington area and new members, over 21 and single are welcome.  For more information, see the site or send an email.

The Griswold Cottage is a chef owned Bed & Breakfast on Boston Street in the scenic, relaxing and interesting Connecticut community of Guilford.   The rooms of  the "cottage" are bright, airy and well appointed and are a a half mile from Guilford's charming Town Green.   Special dining accommodations are welcome but please keep the pets back home.  The site includes room rates, directions and things of interest in the shoreline area.

Guilford Bed & Breakfast in Guilford is a grand post-Victorian home on Maine's beautiful Moosehead Trail.

Alfred & Suzanne Saulniers took over the Orchard Street Manor, an historic Bed & Breakfast in New Bedford, Massachusetts in November, 2000.  Alfred, a homeboy of sorts, has returned to the community after an absence of more than 40 years, much spent living abroad.  Interestingly, they are redecorating the 1846 Georgian Revival Home with a mix of local treasures and others from around the world.   We wish them well and promise a visit.

Stash's Cafe on the shore of
New London, CT (our New England home) is, pure and simple, an institution among its clientele.   Many, but certainly not all, ride motorized, two-wheeled vehicles.  The food is good, folks are friendly, music is live and the people watching is more  fun than the darts.
